Applications

     It is an organosilane with dual functional groups: an organic mercapto group and a hydrolyzable inorganic ethoxysilyl group.

     1. With mercapto functional group, γ-Mercaptopropyltriethoxysilane has special effect as a metal surface anti-rust agent. Treating metal surfaces such as gold, silver and copper can enhance their corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and improve the adhesion with polymers such as resins.

     2. In the rubber industry, it is often used to treat inorganic fillers such as fumed silica, carbon black, glass fiber and mica, which can effectively improve the mechanical properties and wear resistance of rubber.

     3. It can be used for shrink-proof finishing of textiles in the textile industry.

Storage & Transportation:

Store indoors in a dark, ventilated, cool and dry place. Seal the container tightly after opening to prevent hydrolysis caused by moisture ingress.
