Applications

    KH-560 is an epoxy-containing coupling agent used for sealants and caulks of polysulfides and polyurethanes, adhesives for epoxy resins, filled or reinforced thermosetting resins, glass fiber adhesives, and thermoplastic resins filled with inorganic materials or reinforced by glass.

Features and Applications:

    1. Improves the strength properties of rigid composites reinforced with glass fiber roving and maintains maximum strength performance after moisture conditioning.

    2. Enhances the electrical properties of epoxy-based electronic sealants, encapsulation materials and printed circuit boards by improving the adhesion between resin and substrates or fillers.

    3. Enhances the electrical properties of many inorganic-filled composite materials including nylon and polybutylene terephthalate.

    4. Effective for a wide range of fillers and substrates, such as clay, talc, wollastonite, silica, quartz, and metals including aluminum, copper and iron.

    5. Specific applications benefiting from the addition of KH-560 include: quartz-filled epoxy sealants and premixed formulations, sand-filled epoxy concrete repair materials or coatings, and epoxy materials for mold tools and metal filling.

    6. Eliminates the need for separate primers in polysulfide and polyurethane sealants and caulking compounds.

    7. Improves the adhesion of two-part epoxy structural adhesives.

    8. Improves adhesion in water-based acrylic latex caulks and sealants, as well as in polyurethane and epoxy-based coatings.

    9. Improves compatibility, dispersibility and flowability of adhesives in organic toners.
