Physical Properties: Colorless transparent liquid with ester-like odor, soluble in methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, toluene, acetone, etc. Slowly hydrolyzes in the presence of water vapor in air to form corresponding silanol.

Applications:

Mainly used for polyethylene crosslinking; surface treatment of glass fiber reinforced plastics; synthesis of special coatings; surface moisture-proof treatment of electronic components; surface treatment of inorganic silicon-containing fillers, etc. It is an important crosslinking agent for crosslinked polyethylene, widely used in the manufacture of wires, cable insulation, sheath materials and crosslinked polyethylene pipes. It can also be used as a crosslinking agent for ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, chlorinated polyethylene and ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer. It can copolymerize with acrylic coatings to form special exterior wall coatings, known as silicone-acrylic exterior wall coatings. It can copolymerize with various monomers (such as ethylene, propylene, butylene, etc.) or graft polymerize with corresponding resins to produce modified polymers for special purposes. It is also a good adhesion promoter for silicone rubber bonding with metals and fabrics.
